Mahkam was born in Tehran, Iran and grew up in a musical family. His mother always supported him and taught him his first musical lessons. He started to play the piano was he was 12 and instantly he felt that he needs to compose his own songs. With 18 he started to record his first album in Iran, but unfortunatly because of political lyrics his work was censored and not allowed to be released.
