Bahram Bajelan is a well recognized master of Persian classical repertoires as well as being a most popular Persian singer. He was born in Tehran and grew up in a musical family. Bajelan began his musical studies under the direction of his uncle, Bagher Khan Bajelan. He continued his studies in regional music; especially from his native province Lorestan, with his father Aboulhassan Khan Bajelan. He was then inspired to learn to sing the poetic words of the Shahnameh (the book of kings), considered the masterpiece of Persian Literature.
